This is an album about the death of someone very close to me. The tracks trace a narrative line from blissful ignorance to shock and horror to acknowledgement of the omnipresence of death... to yearning to world weariness to nihilism to fatalism.

Epicedes is slow, cinematic and relatively quiet. It marries orchestral textures with dark ambient soundscapes and environmental recordings.

As of 13th January, 2024 I've reordered the tracklist and removed one track to improve the flow of the album. I believe this dramatically improves the experience of this album. I hope you like it.
